Lucid is a sleep company that sells a number of different items including mattresses, toppers, bases and other accessories. In this review I take a look at their 10 inch Plush Gel Memory Foam mattress and run it through a few tests.
Cover – The cover of the Lucid mattress is made with a Tencel blend. Tencel is a plant based material that is known for being pretty breathable. The cover is thin to allow airflow into the mattress and doesn’t interfere with the feel of the comfort layer of the mattress.
Comfort Layer – The comfort layer of the Lucid mattress is 3 inches of gel memory foam. While memory foam does have a reputation for trapping body heat at times, the gel infusion will help to draw that heat away from the sleeper to help with cooling. This layer will also allow the sleeper to sink into the mattress for pressure relief and provide some contouring to the body.
Base – The base of the Lucid mattress is 7 inches of high density poly foam. This is a firm layer that acts as the foundation of the mattress. The base provides support to the comfort layer above as gives the mattress its shape.
